Hi

I have just come across this website www.craftexpo.co.uk - they look as if they are trying to do something different to all the other shows that you can go to - really looking forward to the one's in Bromley and Tonbridge which are local to me - check it out to see if they have anything near you

Hi - I'm new here and to blackwork - I want to give it ago and your answer about the threads is useful - I have a chart which I'm going to use  as a sampler - it is a map of Britain and every county has a different stitch - think it will take an age but we will see!
cheers ross

Hi Jean, Thank you for your prompt reply to my problem Kiss
I did what you suggested and it worked fine. If only I'd have had this info before I tore all my hair out Cry So now I've started to re-thread with your advice, I've now found the old thread is a kind of string, not nylon etc, and every pearl is divided by a knot Shocked so there's no way my fingers will tie all these knots even if the thread I'm now using was thick enough for the said knots to be big enough not to pull through the holes. The `string` had broken at the last three pearls, so I think I'll try and tie / glue the new to the old Cry Take care Jean. Regards. John

Hi John, do not thread the needle, the easest way is to dip one end of the thread into "Bostic Super Glue" which will take a minute or so to dry, it will then be rigid, [if you need, with a knife make a point on the end], then you will be able to pick up 4 - 6 beads or more at a time, all the best, Jean  Smiley

Roll Eyes I'll try again Cry
I'm trying to thread a very fine needle to re-thread some pearls. The nylon thread splits at the cut end and will not enter the needle no matter what I try. I've even tried melting the thread end but I end up with a `bulbous` end to large for the needle. I also tried a needle threader device but though it enters the needle eye it won't allow the thread to be pulled through because of the added thickness. All tips will be very much appreciated Huh
Regards. John
